Agape Feast
The following is extracted from my church e-mail quick reply concerning Christian communion/fellowship on the web and Holy Communion.
I found that trans-substantiation and con-substantiation are being practiced in Protestantism and Charismatic churches. Some have come to use wafers and wine bottle for their imputed meaning/representation.
Anybody is welcomed to visit the site periodically and discover/enjoy new things.
Those who think they are too busy for that have intention to do other things apart from fellowship.
Christians need fellowship with Christians. Waiting for others to send news update all the time is not fellowship.
The Lord's supper is a matter of remembrance as expound by Christ (Luke 22vv17-20)in one Gospel book and through the exposition of Paul (1Cor11vv23-26). Paul's teaching is Scriptures, Divine revelation, final(it settles disputes).
The teaching that the bread turned to the HOST(flesh of Christ) and the vine juice(unleavened wine) turned to blood of Christ is a heresy[this teaching is known as trans-substantiation]. This trans-substantiation is formed by taking Matt26vv26-28 and Mark 14vv22-24 out of context. Christians need to read Matt 26v29 and Mark 14v25 as well. Christ took the same bread and wine with the disciples then and in the future. Certainly our Lord did not teach the eating and drinking of the "SELF" Him consumming Himself.
The doctrine of consbustantiation is also a heresy. It teaches that Christ is present with the bread and wine. Christ is present anyway and can come into us through asking/prayering. The Holy Spirit is with us all the time.
Holy Communion is not a gift of the Spirit. One is not enabled to do more by taking Holy Communion.
Some say that taking Holy Communion can expell demons. Well, doing anything Holy can cause discomfort to demons. Praying alone can also expell demons.
Use anything you have for representation in Holy Communion. May it be a fruit such as a yucca or yam and some juice. It is reverence for the redemption of Christ and fellowship with the saints that matters. Have the Lord's supper anytime the brethren/Christians gather together for a meal. No need for wine and unleavened bread all the time.
Love the brethren.
Peace of Christ be with you.
