Not just any Islamic mosques; but very specific Shia mosques at a very important day/time of Shia Islam.

The Middle East Newsline reports: Syrian intelligence was said to have trained numerous Sunnis in abductions, executions and car bombings against the U.S.-led coalition and the interim government in Baghdad.

For the first time, Iraqi authorities have presented details of Syrian support for and sponsorship of insurgency groups as well as their attacks on the U.S. military and its Iraqi allies. Authorities have presented Syrian and Iraqi nationals who recalled their recruitment and training by Syrian intelligence for the anti-American operation in Iraq.

On Wednesday, Iraqi state television broadcast the confessions of nearly a dozen people who identified Syria as their employer in the insurgency in Iraq. The men included a purported Syrian intelligence officer and his aides recruited to infiltrate Iraq in a mission that reflected Syrian fear that it was also a target of the United States.

The Syrian-sponsored operatives said Syria and the Saddam Hussein regime planned the insurgency nearly two years before the war against Baghdad in March 2003. They said much of the training of the Syrian-sponsored insurgents took place in Pakistan?

The Middle East Newsline reports: Sunni insurgents have carried out their single most lethal strike yet against a military target in Iraq.

A suicide car bomber blew himself up in a crowd of police and military recruits as they waited for a physical outside a clinic south of Baghdad. At least 125 people were killed in the bloodiest single strike in the insurgency war in Iraq.

The attack took place in Hilla a Shi'ite community about 100 kilometers south of Baghdad. Authorities said another 132 people were injured in a blast so powerful that investigators could find virtually no trace of the bomber or his vehicle. They said the only thing left of the bomber was a pair of hands on the steering wheel.

The only Iraqi insurgency attack that was more deadly was when 181 people were killed in multiple suicide bombings in Karbala in March 2004. The Hilla strike was said to have consisted of only one suicide bomber?

Nazir S Bhatti, President, Pakistan Christian Congress, has condemned the killing of Christian worshipers at St. Dominic Church, Bahawalpur during Sunday services.

The number of dead according to Mr. Bhatti is 20 while Bahawalpur police said 16 worshipers were killed.

In a statement sent to Shia News today, Mr. Bhatti said that Sipah e Sahaba, (the Wahabi organisation) is responsible for these killings as they have been the group behind all the blasphemy cases registered against Christians in Pakistan.

"The recent attack on Christian Sunday services in Bahawapur is in connection of "Fathwa"(religious decree) of killing two Christians to avenge the death of every Muslim killed in Afghanistan by the U.S led coalition," said Mr. Bhatti in his statement.

"We have appealed to the government of Pakistan to take notice of JUI and SSP leader's "Fathwas" and adopt necessary measures for security of life and property of Christians in Pakistan," he added.

Work of Anti-Christians is known as wicked work. So, according to Scripture, the work of Muslims is wicked work. The work of Humanists is wicked work. Biblical Christians are not appealing to the wicked work of UN for truth or righteousness or holiness.

Some Muslims appeal to Liberal Christians to support their view. According to this scripture, Liberals are also evil and wicked.

This is a clear line that cannot be crossed or neglected. The Bible is not an opened book to addition.

Reuters reports: Saudi Arabia has detained 40 Pakistani Christians for holding prayers at a house in the Muslim kingdom, where practicing any religion other than Islam is illegal, newspapers said on Saturday.

A group of men, women and children were attending the service in the capital Riyadh when police raided the house, Al Jazirah newspaper said.

It said authorities also found Christian tapes and books.

Another Saudi daily, Al Yaum, said the raid took place on Friday while a Pakistani preacher was delivering a sermon. It was not clear what measures might be taken against the group.

Saudi authorities were not immediately available to comment.

There are around six million foreigners in the conservative kingdom, which has a population of 23 million, including many Christians from Europe, North America, Asia and other Arab states.

In the internet age, signs on an obscure church building can have global repercussions.

Muslim leaders have protested a sign outside the Danieltown Baptist Church in North Carolina reading 'The Koran needs to be flushed', reflecting the recent outrage over allegations that U.S. military personnel in Guantanamo desecrated a Qur'an by flushing it down a toilet. The report led to riots and deaths in Muslim countries. Coming so soon after the Newsweek debacle, and though pastor, Creighton Lovelace has since apologized, it is quite likely that this sign could lead to Christians in Muslim lands being attacked�perhaps fatally.

Muslims have a saying: 'Kill me, but do not mock my faith.' In Islamic jurisprudence, blasphemy is considered a capital crime, and the laws of states such as Pakistan reflect this. Muslims around the world will feel this sign is an attack on their honor, and in Muslim cultures honor can only be avenged with blood. Inevitably local Christians in Iraq and Pakistan, missionaries, and anyone with white skin will be considered fair game, as will church buildings. Zarqawi's group in Iraq beheaded their first captive immediately after the Abu Ghraib scandal broke. In the eyes of Muslims, this is even worse. And though Muslims are responsible for their actions, including violence, Christians need not provoke such behavior, even when seen as unjustified.

D.Lim: Lacking tolerance and righteousness and help from God, Muslims like(resort to) violence, murder and other forms of terrorism. The god of Islam seemingly has no power protecting Islamic matters peacefully.

D.Lim: Christians speaking the truth is regarded by secular people(including evil-doers) to be blasphemous and provocative. Christians however need/have to witness for/to the Truth for Christ/Yhwh. Light and justice is not to be hidden and covered by evil worldly forces.

"Christians often ask themselves, 'What would Jesus do?'" said Council on American-Islamic Relations National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "I don't think Jesus, who is loved by Muslims and mentioned frequently in the Qur'an, would use such hate-filled and divisive rhetoric." A leading British Sunni Muslim informed me that he had already been contacted by a number of British Muslims who were "very emotional" about the church sign. A leading U.K. Shia Muslim expressed confidence that evangelicals would publicly dissociate themselves from such bigotry.

D.Lim: Jesus spoke out against evil-doers even when evil-doers were worshippers of God/Yhwh in the eyes of the World. Jesus did not hold back telling the Truth. Jesus is not mentioned in the Koran as claimed and believed by so many. Yeshua/Jesus is not mentioned in the Koran at all. A figure called "Isa" is used by Islamic people to counterfeit Jesus Christ. A figure that does not speak as God or for God. A figure that cannot resurrect. A figure who did not commission the apostles bringing thousands upon thousands to happiness and freedom from sin, and personal relationship with the Father. Also, "The Father" is not mentioned in the Koran.

How often telling the truth is regarded as hatred. Christians ought to hate sin and falsehood. Yet telling the truth about sin and falsehood is not expressing hatred. Christians are the light of the World.

In our global village, with internet connections, a sign can go up in some obscure U.S. town in the morning, and by evening Britons will be aware of it, and we can be sure that within a few days Muslims in Islamic countries will respond. While it is essential to be adamant for the uniqueness of Jesus and the Bible, there surely is no place for inflammatory language�especially when it damages the gospel message, and endangers human lives.

D.Lim: In Muslim countries, Christians are being run down as second class citizens in colonies, praying and healing many sick and needy who would come for prayers. Christians speak the Truth and Love with Power, patience, and kindness. The power of the Name of Jesus is expressed with holiness and righteousness; relieving ancieties, pains and sufferings. The power of the name of "Isa" has not been reported of having such positive healing aspect/power.

Come to Christ for healing and liberation, people. The Sacred Name of Jesus/Yeshua can break bonds of Satan, evil spirits and sin.

Voice of America News reports: “The United States has warned Americans in Indonesia of a threat by terrorists to attack hotels frequented by Westerners in Jakarta.

The U.S. Embassy in the Indonesian capital issued a security alert Friday, saying it had learned of plans to strike at noon on an unspecified date, although the nature of the attack was not known.

The warning contained no more details. It follows the shutdown of U.S. diplomatic facilities for four days last week after receipt of an unspecified threat.

A 29-year-old Jerusalem Arab was under arrest Wednesday for allegedly strangling two of his sisters to death and trying to kill a third in the name of family honor.

Maher Shakirat, of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Jebl Mukaber, turned himself in to police Tuesday, after hiding out in the Palestinian-run West Bank for the last two months.

The two women, aged 20 and 27, were found strangled to death in their east Jerusalem home on May 2 shortly after the victims' father had reported the murders to police.

A third sister who survived a strangulation attempt was hospitalized, and has since recovered.

The attacker then fled the scene, and remained at large until giving himself up to police this week.

The suspect, who was remanded Wednesday by seven days at the Jerusalem Magistrate's court, has confessed to carrying out the attack, police said.

The parents and wife of the suspected murderer were arrested immediately after the attack, and have since been indicted on charges of assisting a murder.

In largely conservative Arab societies, where the male is clearly the domineering force, Arab women who commit adultery or other "unpardonable" acts often face violent retribution by their direct family members seeking to purify the blemish they feel has been wrought on their family.

In such cases, the male family members often take the law in their own hands, going so far as to kill their own relatives in an effort to cleanse their name.

‘If al-Qaida indeed carried out this act, it is a great victory for it,?he said. ‘It rubbed the noses of the world's eight most powerful countries in the mud.??/p>

The G8 could have removed all Muslims from the Earth if they had laws or rules of Islamic nature. Nearly 25,000 Iraqi civilians have died violently in the two years since the United States led an invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein � more than half of them at the hands of fellow Iraqis, says a report released today by a British think-tank. Olivia Ward reports.

"America, Britain, and Spain...are uniting to strike at the people of truth [i.e. Muslims] in their homeland. This is the infidels' way, oh Muslims...the United Nations, to our regret, has become Dar al-Nadwa [literally 'House of Assembly,' the term for the pre-Islamic meeting place in Mecca], because that is where the infidels meet" (Ibrahim Mudayris, PA TV, February 28, 2003).

In Ahmadi-Nejad's July 25 segment on Iranian Channel 1, he praised martyrdom operations and declared Islam will conquer the world.

‘Have no doubt ... Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.?p>The spiritual adviser Yazdi called on the Iranian people to volunteer for an Iranian organization of martyrs?

But Imam Aly Hindy was not arguing about CSIS, Islamist terrorism or U.S. President George W. Bush -- the subjects that have lately thrust him into the national media spotlight.

"It's the driveway," said one of his bearded attendants, almost apologetically. "We're dealing with the contractors over the price."

Dr. Hindy is at turns solicitous and somewhat evasive when answering questions, and he is no stranger to controversy. Last week, he publicly criticized CSIS and earned the enmity of many of his fellow imams across the country by refusing to join them in a collective statement denouncing the terrorist attacks in London. He was also shut out of a meeting with Prime Minister Paul Martin, who met on Thursday with the imams who signed the declaration.

"Why should we sign a declaration against terrorism when it is obvious that we don't support it?" he asked. "The statement is implying that we bear some guilt for what happened in London, which is simply not true."

Earlier this week, Dr. Hindy told an interviewer for the CBC that the London attacks might have been part of a plot by the United States.

"I'm really wondering how come this terrorist attack happened just exactly before the Congress debated renewing the Patriot Act," he said.

"He's consistent," says Tariq Fatah, a spokesman for the Canadian Muslim Congress. "He has integrity and he sticks to what he's saying."

Dr. Hindy took over the Salaheddin mosque in Toronto in 1997. He is clearly proud of the modest two-storey complex that he helped to design in a down-at-heels section of Toronto's ethnically diverse suburb of Scarborough.

This past week, Britain's Daily Telegraph released the results of a YouGov survey of British Muslims that the newspaper claimed were "at once reassuring and disturbing, in some ways even alarming." I understand the "alarming" and "disturbing" parts; I fail to see how this survey can be the least bit "reassuring" however.

Of course, there will be those who will point out in response that the survey also showed that the vast majority of British Muslims (88 percent) feel that such attacks are "not justified at all" or "on balance, not justified". But let us not forget that another six per cent said that they "did not know" if the bombings were justified. Throughout this survey, the number of respondents who replied to questions that they "did not know" is high. Generally, such a response is a means of hedging an unexpressed answer that is known to be unflattering or potentially harmful.

The survey also noted that 24 percent of those surveyed said that they "had some sympathy with the feelings and motives of those who carried them out." Another six percent said that they "did not know."

YouGov also asked whether or not its Muslim respondents agreed or disagreed with Tony Blair's description of the ideas and ideology of the London bombers as "perverted and poisonous". Again, while a large majority, 58 percent, agree with the British Prime Minister, a substantial minority, 26 percent, are reluctant to be so dismissive. In addition, eighteen percent say that they have little or no loyalty toward Great Britain, with the proportion of men who say they feel no loyalty to Britain being more than three times the proportion of women saying the same.

Now, some will accuse me of focusing on the negative aspects of this survey, pointing out that the majority of British Muslims are obviously opposed to the actions and motives of those who commit acts of terror in the name of Islam. Astonishingly, however, it should be noted that only 40 percent of those surveyed actually believed that the bombers were Muslims at all. Thirty-four percent said that they did not believe that they were Muslims and twenty-six percent said that they "did not know".

This is clear illustration of what I mentioned in my weblog last week, of the continuing hesitation on the part of western Muslims to face up to the fact that this present terrorism is a problem within Islam. Muslims who consider themselves moderates must begin to acknowledge it openly and assume responsibility to effectively deal with it, both publicly and privately. This is not going to be easy. The survey also noted that only just over half of British Muslims (54 percent) surveyed would support a law making it easier to deport any imam from abroad who would preach hatred against the West. Thirty-six percent denied that there even were any such imams in Great Britain. Alarmingly, only 66 percent felt that British Muslims had a responsibility to prevent such crimes as the London bombings and to help bring to justice those who commit them. Twenty-four percent felt that British Muslims had little or no such responsibility.

Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and other militant outfits were banned in February for their alleged involvement in criminal activities. But critics here say the government, which includes two Islamist parties, has been reluctant to take a harder line with militant groups.

Protestors in the court room for the trial of three women accused of

attempting to convert Muslim children caused such uproar on August 18 that

the Chief Justice, Judge Hasby exploded in anger, shouting, "This court has

its rules and regulations! Who dared to tell us to hand down the verdict

now?" According to Assist News report, the uproar followed the judge's

decision to postpone the proceedings for a week to allow the defense to

prepare for new elements introduced by the prosecution. Observers question

the possibility of an impartial judgment, since the judges have been faced
