Many non-believers like to disprove the Bible by all means, and jump into mockery and derision at first sight of what seems un-natural and grammatical mistake.

The Lord God, however likes to play with the impatience of non-believers.

Rather than following simple patterns of grammar, the Word of God sets its own system, pace and format/definition.

Let us look at two passages of Genesis below for such allegation:

Genesis 4v8:

4:8 該隱與他兄弟亞伯說話, 二人正在田間. 該隱起來打他兄弟亞伯, 把他殺了.

And Cain (talked with)said to Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

The mss (as shown in Biblia Hebrewica) has the text � And Cain said to Abel, and it ….

This in general daily grammar suggest a missing line.

Some text even put a line back to aid readability. A line � "Let us go to the fields" is added.

Many translation changed the text to � talked with � as to render its grammar correct in accordance of our daily usage of grammar. The great sense of urgency and hidden plot of Cain is lost.

However, the original text stands as it is � an abrupt change of line and grammar to show the intention and falsehood of Cain to Abel. It does not matter what was said or spoken to Abel. It matters that this happened so continuously as not to raise suspicion of Abel or others; that it was a planned murder, cold and calculated, no accident, no uncertained scenario.

The next passage we may look at is Genesis 37v2; a verse from the same book. The same written style of the same writer.

Genesis 37v2:

37:2 雅各的記略如下. 約瑟十七歲與他哥哥們一同牧羊. 他是個童子, 與他父親的妾辟拉, 悉帕的兒子們常在一處. 約瑟將他哥哥們的惡行報給他們的父親.

37:3 以色列原來愛約瑟過於愛他的眾子, 因為約瑟是他年老生的. 他給約瑟作了一件彩衣.

37:4 約瑟的哥哥們見父親愛約瑟過於愛他們, 就恨約瑟, 不與他說和睦的話.

And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

It is normal to expect a description or record of ones generation/chronology starts with the one person.

Not so in this case. The centre of attention is Joseph, who is acting out the blessings and reception of Jacob.

What is lost or hidden in Jacob�s life is spread out in Joseph�s life. The Glory of God in obedient man. Not a sly grabber as many would think of Jacob in his earlier life.

The chronology of Jacob is well-mentioned and recorded in the text of Genesis and the Bible. There is no urgent/essential need to repeat the details. So the author of Genesis is taking this opportunity to show us the truth Spiritual behind this family lineage, its significance.

Jacob and Joseph received blessings of God even before they were born, the younger over the older, and lived out such blessings to the extend of blessing others.

No lost words. No corrupt texts. Just a God who takes initiation over His creation(both believers and non-believers).

The Wisdom of God is not that of men! Do not expect the evil ways of men and wickedness of the World when it comes to have anything to do with God.
