The Majority Mind/mentality

By our count, there are more references in the Vulgate or KJV to unicorns than to fornicators or homosexuals, but hundreds of references to love and honour.

How often do we see and hear preachers and speakers talk of validity of terms and issues by their counts(frequency of appearance)!? How often are we told that what appears more is more important (ie: love)?

The women rights activists are quoting and pointing to many scripture reference to woman in leadership and power.

Yet this is not a method taught by God or mentioned in the Bible.

They are following other gods.

The theme of John 3v16 appears once in the Bible; yet it is the most mentioned verse in evangelism, and probably in the Faith of the New Testament.

Sunday as the Sabbath is not mentioned in Scriptures in any explicit way. 2 references for gathering on the 1st day is found. But many references to Christian activities (including worship) on the 7th day which is the Sabbath. So, by a matter of counts for importance, all Christians who are honest and Bible reading ought to be resting and worshipping on the 7th day which is Sabbath rather than the 1st day which is Sunday. Seeing double standard here?

Pastor/overseer/Episkopos mentioned about twice(1Tim3v1,2; Titus1v7) whereas "elder/presbyter" is mentioned many times(Acts4vv5,8; Titus1v5; Heb11v2; 1Pet5vv1,5; 2Jn1; Rev4v4,5v5,14v3) in matters of leadership(Acts4vv5,8; Act20v28; 1Pet5v2).

Poimen mentioned once(Eph4v11).

Episkope in 1Tim3v1 could be used for elders and deacons of the church as well.

By number of occurrence or by counting, the Christian churches ought to be having leadership system of "Eldership" instead of having pastors.

"The righteous/just shall live by faith" appears approximately 3 times in the Bible(Ps11v7; Hab2v4; Rm1v17, 9v30; Phil3v9). Do we live by faith with so few references relating to righteousness then? By no means.

The righteous do/shall not live by just any scholarship.

"Propitiation" appears approximately 2 times in the Bible(Rm3v25; Jn2v2). No propitiation then? By no means.

What is important is not necessarily what is mentioned more. The parents do not necessarily repeact important messages to their off-springs. Oriental parents are economical in words. The birth of Jesus Christ and John the Baptist is mentioned in Luke only( 1v5-80) Nicodemus interview with Jesus in John 3 only. God is economical in words. Very seldom/rare do we hear God speaking with appearance.(Isa 6vv1-5 is one of these rare occurrence. Ezekiel saw God; but do you? Have you?)

The Truth is to be judged and understood through its context. The same word (though having the same construction, same spelling, same pronounciation) may mean very different things in different context. There is god for false leadership and idol, and there is God for the Almighty. In Arabic the word "Allah" is used both for Yhwh the only God, and the entity/deity of Islam. (The crescent ornament being used by Islam, Muslims, and the Ismaelites of old has been a sign/symbol of Arabs/Ismaelites since the time of Exodus, Joshua and Judges. Yhwh delivered these people of the crescent and camels to the hands of the Israelites(Jd8v21, 26; Isa3v18).

The word and its force/meaning is depended upon the context. The word "Esa" means God given helper, rather than just any helper. Women rights activists would like to point out that "esa" is used as helper for man (ignoring the fact that it is designed and ordained and arranged by God as we are told earlier in the context), and is the same word used for the Holy Spirit as our helper; therefore drawing absolute parallel between the two occasions, teaching that the same word has the same meaning throughout its usage. This idea contradict with the revelation of Scriptures that woman is from man, and formed from part of man, and being weaker, sinned first. Their teachings contradict with Scriptures, and yet, who sees that? All look after their own agenda and interest, boasting in scholarship, seminary brotherhood they fostered, and degrees they paid for in order to lord over those who could not afford such schooling, or not accepted by such institutes. Institution has become their idol, their gods, their lords. No wonder destructive errors arise.

The Majority Mind is prevalent in our societies and churches. Often are people expressing that some action and decision is right as the majority of churches or many organisations are doing just that(eg: forbidding people including Christians other than the immediate committee to copy, record or videotape a Christian event; Charging non-members to a church[ including Christians from other churches ] extra fees for partaking in Christian events; Forbidding Christians Christian Resources making church resources exclusive to a selected non-disclosed few. Simple non-judging faith. Ordination of women.) It expresses that the support or need/requirement of the few is wrong or irrelevant. This is not a Scriptural principle, nevertheless well received/accepted, well taught, and well practiced. What seemingly shows (immediate)love and wisdom, is commercialism and legalism, instead of Godly Love.

One thing through a mentality does lead to another and another. The effect is wide-spread! This is why we need to examine ourselves, rely on God all the time, be ready for repentance, and not just follow crowds.

Do not make extra-Biblical Theology, Institution, our God.

Listen to God. Wait on Him.

Love God!
