The lowly and the far-reaching
Proverb 30 v 28
The lizard you may grasp with the hands,
Yet it is in kings' palaces.
Life has far reaching effect; and a living person can reach very far in life.
A lizard - What a little cold-blooded animal. Hardly noticable in busy daily living.
Some being that is normally forgotten in the busy transaction of human affairs.
Yet this humble being go on with its own life of rich resources.
This humble being reaches very far!
It can even enter and live in luxurious places where common people are forbidden.It is not provoked by foul languages; it does not speak behind other's back; it is not upset by economy; it does not save up for accumulated wealth; it does not look for glory; it does not lay traps for its prey; it lives on for its own daily business.
The term palaces was used which suggests many palaces. Many dream-houses.
If one place is already filled with mysteries, awe, treasure, honour and dignity, how much more are that of many places?
Yet, there is one common point - they are all reachable!
Not by scheming or cunning plan, but by a small fellow, who exists for wealth of a different kind.The passage reminds us of appointed time and places for the appointed creatures.
It also reminds me of the teachings of Christ recorded in Matt 10vv29-31, & Luke 12vv6-7.
Christ taught that the cheaply priced sparrows are noted by the Father; why should men worry as if their Father in Heaven does not care?
Christ also taught in Matt 6v28 and Luke 12v27 that the wild flower, Lilies, are adorned by God to stand out more than the garments best designed by Solomon.
Why worry, rather than placing our trust in God?
What seems forgotten are cared for by the Father from the very beginning.
The lowly are ordained by God to live out their days.
When the worst is taking place, and our surroundings are caving in, rest assured that God has thought out the situation, planned the event and position us where we are, and will bring everything to pass in His timing to His Glory.
