Praying with thanks
We have lots and lots of things we need to thank God for.
I thank (my) God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus.Paul in his letter/epistle to the Corinthians shows us a good example of thanks giving.
1Cor1v4 - He thank his God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus.
1Cor1v5-7 tells us why he gives thanks.
A thanks giving life is one that appreciates; one that renders respect, admiration, gratitude to the One thanks are rightfully due. And this is righteousness and justice that the children of God need practicing.
Paul is convinced that nothing terrible and harmful can separate us from the Love of God. (Rm 8 v38-39) Are you convinced of that?
This is love for Christ that we trust our Redeemer, who alone is able to save; and He does.
There is no greater certainty.
Trust and obey. For there is no other way to be in union with God. The Son never doubt the Father beyond trust and obedience, causing negligence. Just after the painful WHY (Lama?) He was convinced that It Is Finished. he has offered up Himself, and is able to save His own and defeat death and Satan.
Christ has obeyed and trusted the Father right through the sign of doubt.
And we thank God for His obedience and trust.
Many will be blessed by our testimony/witness and effort if we would trust and obey Christ. The love for God in Unity is thus manifested.
2Cor1 v3-5 is also an expression of thanksgiving.
Gal 1v4 implicitly thank God for the reason that He gave Himself for our sins. Christ did this according to the will of God - an expression of obedience.
In Eph 1v3 Paul blessed God as his thanksgiving because God has blessed all of us.
In 2 Thess 1v3 Paul teaches that we ought to always give thanks to God for our brethren.
Let us learn to thank God first and always in our prayers.
