Prayer of Watchfulness
A line in the nightly prayer before going to sleep:
Perhaps tonight, Lord.
Remember that one should get ready for the return/rapture of the Lord.
A line in the morning prayer after waking up from rest:
Perhaps today, Lord.
Remember that one should get ready for the return of the Lord in a day's work.
Be on alert!
Time is short, and the days are evil.
Work for the Lord earnestly, and as if it is the last day. Be faithful to the end!
Some Christians even open a window and pray to the air, to express an outward faith, expectation, and direct the heart to reach out to the Lord. Christian life is not a trapped life. There is always a way out. There is freshness, just as there is fresh air.
There is outward witness.
