Sermon on the Mount; the 3rd blessing:
Matt 5 v5- Blessed are the gentle,
for they shall inherit the earth.Gentle in spirit. (power, strength, force.)
Gentle in mind. (approach, device, interaction.)
Take time for consideration. Take time to experience the salvation of God. It happens right here on earth. It is not just a spiritual matter for another life; something beyond death.Jehovah is a living God, and the God of the living; not of the dead.
Gentle in working out plans. (Take time and be watchful for each process.) There is a lack of violence.
Show others you care; and not just rush onto something else. Your share of help/work is right delivered to your care in front of you.Gentle in thoughts for others; being thoughtful.
There are those who are willing to share things with you. Should you roughly escape their attention?Gentle in action as not to scare off the astonished.
Should you spin so fast that others loss you? Should you throw away your excess rather than giving them to the needy?Gentle, so that one can take time to care for the down-trodden.
Gentle is not without guts/courage. As Christ allowed Himself to be arrested, questioned and crucified.
Gentle is not without anger/zeal, as Christ demonstrated anger in the temple.
Being gentle is not the same as being patient.
Sinners might be gently left to their own ways - reaping eternal damnation.
Christ gently left His disciples at the garden and went to the cross.
You think violence will bring the world closer to you?
You think all that the world needs is revolution? Christ thinks not.
You think it being strong by being hard?
Scriptures does teach the consumption of the earth, and a new heaven, new earth, new Jerusalem.
The message is that you can be victorious right here in this earth and gain support, alliegiance, wealth, respect without being hard on others and playing rough.
Being gentle may bring your friends and enemies closer to you for loving relationship and interaction. Being gentle cause less hatred and hurt.
Being gentle keeps attentive ears to cries, concerns, sharp expression and deviation; while one remains calm enough to enjoy the gentle Christ and the mysterious plan of God.
Being gentle keeps sure distance from violence; able to establish peace without mutual violence.
