Sermon on the Mount; the 5th blessing:
Matt 5 v7 - Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall receive mercy.Do you want to be merciful, like a King?
Or do you want to hurt, to disfigure, not giving a chance to those whose lives are not beyond repair?
Forgive!
And be forgiven.
Christ has made this act easy.
Come to Him all you who labour and are burdened heavily. He will give you rest.
Do you want to be rich, so as to give; or to remain poor, as having nothing else to give?
Do you enjoy the good feeling of giving? Or just the lust of taking?
Do you know your needs? God knows.
Do you provide for the needs of others near and around you?
Do you love them?
Do you care for them?
Are you better than they and have pity for their states?
Do you care to help?
God will make sure there is no shortage in you.
He will fill you your needs in return for your kindness and gentlness.
Surely, He will see to that.
Your enemies are your friends. They need the Good News of the kingdom of heaven.
Your enemies are your objects of care. They are worthy of your love and care.
God is supplying you opportunity to partake in His giving out and helping out. God has not left you alone to work out other plans of salvation.On earth, in this life, it is never too late to forgive; to write off the debt for those who wish to come to God. The saving hand of Christ is never too short. Would you like to experience His forgiveness?
Come to Him and He will give you rest. (Matt11v28,29)
He has victory over sin once and for all.
