THE WINDOW OF SALVATION

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This verse clearly states WHOSOEVER believeth in the Lord Jesus Christ will

be saved. If we stop our study of this topic here, we will not understand

most WHOSOEVERS will never become believers. The next verse tell us why this

is so:

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw

him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

The simple truth is. unless the Father draws men unto Jesus, NONE of them

will even have an opportunity to become saved! In other words, people cannot

just decide to get saved whenever they feel like it. There is a window that

God opens and closes for individuals regarding salvation, and the unsaved

can only be saved when this window is open.

Because God is God, He chooses when and how often to draw individuals to

Christ. Since He may only do this once, it is a fearful thing to say no to

God when He is drawing you to Christ:

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and

in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted

time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

The unsaved only have their carnal nature to guide them through life, and it

has no real interest in God. While our "carnal self" would like to escape

the damnation of hell, it is not willing (or able) to give God dominion over

itself. That is why there are so many religions, as our carnal self is only

willing to consider believing in a god who is willing to "let down the

standards" so it can make heaven while living like hell upon earth.

When an individual is being drawn of the Father toward Jesus, the Holy

Spirit overrides the power of the carnal self enough so the person being

dwelt with can begin to see the reality of salvation, and their fallen

state. With the power and unity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit working

together, many unbelievers still resist the grace of God and choose to

remain in their sins. To do this one is dangerous beyond belief, to do it

more than once is taking a risk even a fool should not be willing to accept.

If you really think salvation is a piece of cake, read on:

1 Peter 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly

and the sinner appear?

Think hard about this verse, the next time God tells you to witness to a

lost soul. This verse tells us that even the best people on earth, only make

it to heaven by the "skin of their teeth"! Salvation is not a trivial thing,

and we are all suspended over the pit of hell by a thread of life.

Luke 13

23: Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said

unto them,

24: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will

seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Do you get the impact of this? If we just wait around and expect to be able

to enter heaven, we will surly miss it. Remember, no man can enter in UNLESS

the Father draweth them to Christ first. If we attempt to bypass the windows

of opportunity God opens for us, we will NEVER accept the Lord Jesus Christ

as our Lord and Savior.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

This is the KEY verse regarding this. The Father calls many to repent and

believe the gospel, but He cannot choose many because they won't choose Him

when He does call them. If you even dare to think you will get around

responding to this calling, think about what happened regarding Jesus when

He became sin for us on the cross:

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,

Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God,

why hast thou forsaken me?

Since God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, turned away the Son of God

because of sin, what chance do you think you have attempting to squeak into

heaven with even one sin on your soul? My friend quit playing with fire, and

you may well find yourself in it for eternity.

While Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins on the cross, God HID Himself

from Him. If your sins are not under the blood of Jesus Christ, you NOT

someone God will allow into His sinless realm in heaven. If God is not

stirring your hunger for salvation as you read it, ask Him to open the

window so you can get a glimpse of His wonderful forgiveness and grace. When

the light of God illuminates your pitiful soul, you HAD BETTER cry out for

forgiveness and salvation.

If you are not under conviction regarding your need of salvation, begin to

pray God will reveal Himself and His plan of salvation to you. Call and ask

true believers to do the same, as you never know how many times Jesus will

knock on the door to your heart before moving on and never returning to do

so again¡K

The gospel of salvation:

1 Corinthians 15

1: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto

you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2: By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto

you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how

that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4: And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to

the scriptures:
