Answering allegation that all faith are alright
This is by no means a comprehensive list. David Lim is just filing some thoughts as answers to the view that all faith including Islam, Catholicism, Buddhism are alright.
===
Verses from the Qur'an:
--- Sura 9:36 says, "Fight the pagans"; sura 33:61 says "Wherever they are found, they shall be seized and slain without mercy'; and sura 9:5 says "Fight and slay the Pagans wherever you find them and seize them."
---Sura 5:38 says, "As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands." Sura 8:12 says, "I will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite you above their necks and smite all their finger tips off them."
---Sura 4:101: "For the Unbelievers are unto you open enemies...The Unbelievers wish...to assault you in a single rush.
Muslims being brutal? What nonsense! I am an Unbeliever and one of the best friends that I ever had was a Muslim. Surely you cannot believe these verses!! Think about these things!
I being a rational person has suffered no ill from my Muslim friend.
David:
If the verses are in the Koran and have not been abrogated; they are part of the true teachings of Islam.
Any Muslim who does not follow the true teachings of the Koran are not practicing his faith truthfully.
===
Muslim:
I, and fellow intelligent Muslims, read the Qur'an for comprehension and to abide by the principles as given by the Almighty; you read them for fun and to spot for mistakes.And Muslims read the Qur'an in misery and for misery?
Abide with principles of intolerance and brutality as well?
What is wrong in exposing mistakes from where they are? Would mistakes disappear when the passages and their context are comprehended.
So when a teacher mark the essay/assignment from his students, he would give them full marks once he read them over and comprehend their mistakes?
When a judge comprehended the crimes the accused are alleged to have commited, he would declare them innocent?I should think mistakes are mistakes, and the truth remains the same.
===
Muslim:
You only want to read the Qur'an in bits and pieces. ( Jn 4v22 )How do Muslims know others must have read the book fewer times than themselves?
Does a ex-Muslim suddenly read the Qur'an less times, and less than any other Muslim once/when he started to criticise the faith?Mistakes, principles, and verses remain in the same position no matter how many times you read the text. They are located by reference and do not change merely by reading the whole text plus hadith as long as these verses are not abrogated by any sect or faction of Islam.
===
Atheist:
The layering on of additional confusion. All the better for the (Catholic)clergy, since we now need them more than ever to explain the whole mess.
===
Muslim:
The verses have to be read in the right context. Killing is acceptable in olden times and when believers are at war. Christians in history also raised war and killed non-believers.This means Muslims are taught to kill when they see fit ( believe it necessary ).
Christ preach the Gospel of Peace and forgiveness. ( Matt 26v52, Lk 22v51, Lk 23,34, Jn 8v11, Jn 18v11, Jn 12v47 )
Christ preach the Gospel of supreme sacrifice. ( Lk 22v19, Lk 24v26, Jn 3v14, Jn 6vv 48, 51, 53, Jn 10v17 )
Christ preach He is the life-giving God. ( Matt 18v11, Lk 22vv 69, 70 Jn 1vv1-12, Jn 3v17, Jn 4vv14, 26, Jn 5v21, Jn 6v39, Jn 8v14, Jn 8v58, Jn 11v25 )
Ana-baptists never kill anybody, never join any armed force, never uphold or support violence. ( Jn 13vv 34, 35 )
No christian are recorded in the Bible to have fought other believers in war and battle with any weapon under the commandments of God or the teachings of Christ and His apostles.
True that there are people who claim to be followers of Christ yet murder, lie and work all forms of evil and wickedness. The Biblical Faith does not teach that these people are Godly or righteous in their thoughts and deeds. ( Jn 3vv19-21, Jn 4v24, )
Men have no power to hurt the souls of christians and others even by killing them off. And God is in control. ( Matt 11v25, Lk 22vv29, 32, 42, 69, Lk 23v43, Jn 3v17, Jn 6v44, Jn17v17, Jn 19v11 )
Christ taught that men should work for food which endures to eternal life. ( Jn 6v27 )
===
Chinese Buddhism:
All religions are from and of the same god and origin; and they all teach goodness and lead to the same goodness.Really? ( Jn 7v24, Jn 10v1, )
The Qur'anic verses are preaching a spirit opposing that of the teachings of Christ.Islam teaches that Allah rather than Jehovah is the Almighty. And Mohammad who is not Jewish could be their greatest prophet.
Christ claimed to be God, the Son of God, the light and the truth; nobody comes to the Father but through/by Him. Christ and His apostles never teach there is another way. ( Jn 6vv 29, 39, 40 )
Buddhists are willing to kill in defense of their faith. And Ana-baptists practise non-resistance, and are willing to die in the hands of the aggressors without fighting back and hurting/killing the enemies.
Christ teaches non-resistance.

Are all revelation from the same source/god?
Atheist:
There is TOO MUCH revelation in the world. Everyone claims to have revelation that is better than someone else's revelation. To be perfectly safe, I would have to believe in EVERYONE's revelation. Clearly, I cannot do that as many revelations contradict other revelations. ( Matt 11v21, Matt 13v15, Matt 17v17, Jn 4 v 48, Jn 4vv 10, 22, Jn 5vv46-7, Jn 6v45, Jn 7v17, )
===
Muslim:
A muslim is just told (by the Koran) that the others (non-Muslims) will go to hell.
Here, we have Islam opposing the doctrine of Buddhism.
