What the Biblical Mary is not.
In Vol.18, No:28 p.10 of Now Magazine, Mon11-17 1999,
A letter promoting the Roman Catholic Mary was published under the name of Milan Francis Poskoch; attacking Joyce Hor-Chung Lau and the biblical christian faith.
The writer claims that devotion to the Holy Mother or the Virgin mary is as old as Christianity itself and is as Christ-centred as one can get.
Not so, according to existing documentary evidence.
In the history of the earliest Christian churches - The Acts of the Apostles, which is part of the christian bible - The Holy Mother as referred to Mary is never mentioned.
Mary as the human mother of Christ was not upheld by believers as somebody more than a believer of Christ. Mary was never the wife of the Almighty. The Church will be the bride of the Lamb/Christ. Mary being part of the church will be joined to the Son via the wedding of the lamb as mentioned in the book of Revelation.
Marrying ones mother is incess, and is forbidden by the commandment of God in Moses.
Christ never mentioned that Mary has any special place in union with the Father to the production of the Son.
The bible does not uphold the idea that Mary never slept with her legal husband, Joseph. The brothers [and sisters] of Christ was mentioned in scriptures (Mk3 vv31-34).
The worship of any idol, any other god, spirit, entity, any other person is idolatry, and not Christ-centred. It is not Yhwh-centred either. It is sin blatantly manifested.
The writer also claimed that Vatican II emphasized the most honourable status of the Blessed Virgin by naming her mother of the church.
Vatican I and II are not biblical organisation or proclamation. It is not in accord with scriptures, and is accursed. (Gal 1 vv8,9)
Mary is not mentioned as the most honourable believer in Scriptures. The angel Gabriel in Luke never stated that Mary is more blessed than any other creatures, or Christ Himself. She is just richly blessed (Lk1v28); who has found favour with God (Lk 1v30). No mentioning that Mary will be great. The Son will be called the Son of the Most High (Lk1 v32), and Mary - not the wife or the mother of the Most High.
The angel Gabriel said that the Holy Spirit will come upon her, and the power of the Most High will overshadow her (Lk1 v35). God the Father is not said to have knew her, come upon her, or joined with her.
The New Testament never mentioned that any christian/believer is the mother or father or superior or patron of the church.
Mary herself knew and said (and so recorded) that she is the slave of the Lord (Lk1 v38). All christians are slaves of the Most High. No differentiation for Mary.
The writer claimed that George Washington said,"How can you honour the son if you do not honour the mother?"
How can you honour God if you do not obey His commandment?
How can you be a Christian, His follower without obeying His Word, and keep to His revelation? His path? render all honour and glory to Him?
How can you honour the Christ Jesus by worshipping/honouring his earthly mother, that He commands you not to? and not honour her mother? and her mother's mother? and..... Eve? and not honouring Adam? and not honouring God the Creator?
The Last is said at the First Place - He is Alpha and Omega - Worship God.
Fear God and keep His commandments. That applies to all.
Man is created in the image of God, and woman is from man. Honour the resurrected Christ, and worship Him. For all power has been given to Him by the Father. He sits at the right hand of the Father. No body else. No virgin Mary. No Madonna.
Be faithful and obedient to God, rather than to the Vatican, to the false prophets, false priests, lying scribes, doctrines of demons, and delusion.
To obey is better than sacrifice.
Be Godly by God's Way. Not by unGodly, lawless, sinful, human-centred, demon-inspired ways. More is not better.
Roman Catholic:
"One day through the Rosary and Scapular I will save the
world."
Our Lady said these words to St. Dominic, over seven hundred years ago.
A very different picture to Monotheism and one redemption/salvation of Christ.
Also in the Hail Mary (prayer):
..Blessed art thou among women; and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. . .
Holy Mary, mother of God. . .
No emphasis is placed on Jesus.
And Mary is addressed as holy, and as mother of God. Not as mother of Jesus on Earth.
GOD Mary Immaculate Queen
Mary is no Queen. Mary has never married to God or any King.
Mary is not immaculate. She was in sin as much as any human born after Adam.
The scriptures do not teach any woman free from sin since childhood. Scriptures never teach that Jesus was born of a sinless, perfect woman.
Mary was no God. She is no God.
Roman Catholics worship many gods, including God Mary Immaculate Queen; and mother God (God the Mother).
Our Lady
Mary, the mother of Jesus is a woman, having given birth to a number of children. She is no more a lady in history and in reality.
Mary as co-redemptrix ?

Pope John II has stated that Mary is "Co-redemptrix" in his papal teachings. For example, in 1985, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, the pope said: "Mary goes before us and accompanies us. The silent journey that begins with her Immaculate Conception and passes through the ‘yes?of Nazareth, which makes her the Mother of God, finds on Calvary a particularly important moment. ?In fact, at Calvary she united herself with the sacrifice of her Son that led to the foundation of the Church; her maternal heart shared to the very depths the will of Christ ‘to gather into one all the dispersed children of God?(Jn. 11:52). Having suffered for the Church, Mary deserved to become the Mother of all the disciples of her Son, the Mother of their unity. ?In fact Mary’s role as Coredemptrix did not cease with the glorification of her Son" (Inside the Vatican, July 1997, p. 23).
In his general audience address of April 9, 1997, the pope said: "Mary ?co-operated during the event itself [the crucifixion] and in the role of mother; thus her co-operation embraces the whole of Christ’s saving work. SHE ALONE WAS ASSOCIATED IN THIS WAY WITH THE REDEMPTIVE SACRIFICE THAT MERITED THE SALVATION OF ALL MANKIND. IN UNION WITH CHRIST AND IN SUBMISSION TO HIM, SHE COLLABORATED IN OBTAINING THE GRACE OF SALVATION FOR ALL HUMANITY. ?In God’s plan, Mary is the ‘woman?(cf. Jn 2:4; 19:26), the New Eve, united to the New Adam in restoring humanity to its original dignity. Her cooperation with her Son continues for all time in the universal motherhood which she enjoys in the order of grace. Trusting in this maternal cooperation, LET US TURN TO MARY, IMPLORING HER HELP IN ALL OUR NEEDS" (Vatican Information Service).
In his general audience for July 30, the pope continued his theme of talks on Mary, saying: "As the Mother of all the Lord’s disciples (cf. Jn 19:26), MARY OFFERS HER INTERCESSION AND AID TO ALL WHO JOURNEY TOWARDS THE FULLNESS OF THE LORD’S KINGDOM. As the Bride and Temple of the Holy Spirit, she encourages us to imitate her openness to the workings of the Spirit and to live in constant, loving communion with the Blessed Trinity."
Pope John Paul II has exalted Mary even in his most official documents. In his encyclical Redemptoris Mater (Mother of the Redeemer), published March 25, 1987, the pope referred to Mary as "Mediatrix" three times, and as "Advocate" twice.
God (He is the Author of Perfection) is all sufficient. His Way is perfect, refreshes the soul. There is no salvation outside God. No other way has been given by which mankind must be saved.
