One church/assembly representation in each city?
一城一教會?
Acts2v47
2:47 讚美神, 得眾民的喜愛. 主將得救的人, 天天加給他們.
2v47: Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Here we have the church representing the whole.
Acts9v31
9:31 那時猶太, 加利利, 撒瑪利亞, 各處的教會都得平安, 被建立. 凡事敬畏主, 蒙聖靈的安慰, 人數就增多了.
Acts9v31: Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
Here we have the churches as local entities in districts larger than towns and cities. Judaea is not one city. Galilee is the district around sea of Galilee. Samaria is the whole land inhabited by Samaritans.
Toronto is a city. York Region is not. Ontario is not.
So, the church at York Region and Ontario is no city church, and yet Biblical.
Romans16v5
16:5 又問在他們家中的教會安. 問我所親愛的以拜尼土安. 他在亞西亞是歸基督初結的果子.
16v5: Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well-beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.
Here, we have the church/assembly being in a house家中的教會. This is a proof that House Church is a Biblical practice.
Churches need not be gathered into one city church or represented as such.
The firstfruits in this church does not mean that it is the primitive form of assembly, and on its way of becoming a city church. The house church could have remained as such all the time.
1Cor16v1,9
16:1 論到為聖徒捐錢, 我從前怎樣吩咐加拉太的眾教會, 你們也當怎樣行.
1Cor16v1: Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
There is a multiple of churches/assemblies in Galatia. No mentioning of city church. They are churches of Galatia. Not churches in Galatia.
They were all ordered and taught by Paul. No independent local jurisdiction.
1Cor16v19
16:19 亞西亞的眾教會問你們安. 亞居拉和百基拉, 並在他們家裡的教會, 因主多多的問你們安.
1Corv19: The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
No mentioning of city churches here in the whole district of Asia, but house church is mentioned. See also Col4v15, Phile v2.
They are churches of Asia. Not churches in Asia. See also 2Cor8v1.
3Jn v10:
v10 所以我若去, 必要題說他所行的事. 就是他用惡言妄論我們. 還不以此為足, 他自己不接待弟兄, 有人願意接待, 他也禁止, 並且將接待弟兄的人趕出教會.
3Jn v10: Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds that he does, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither does he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casted them out of the church.
The church教會 stands as a single authority, community and unity. There is no distinction of church type.
他也禁止his deeds - one person acting as the authority of the whole church.
In Rev1v4
1:4 約翰寫信給亞西亞的七個教會.
John to the seven churches which are in Asia:
Aparently these seemingly city churches are described as churches in Asia. They are not spoken as the seven city churches. Neither are they representing all there is in Asia.
There is XX Church in Hong Kong. But Hong Kong (with its size larger than the State of Singapore) is a special district. Hong Kong city together with Kowloon city, Tuen Moon city, Lantau Island, and many more districts form Hong Kong where the XX Church in Hong Kong was established, in many districts.
And such XX Church in Hong Kong is by no means THE REPRESENTATION of the Church of Christ Jesus in the whole World.
So, the doctrine of one authentic and representative church in each city is un-Biblical. Its advocates teaching not according to Scriptures.
