The last word of Christ - It is finished ! Tet lestai !
Tet lestai - accomplish, make an end, expire, fill up, finish, go over, pay, perform
Christ explained that He has done it. Accomplished His task. Made an end to death and human suffering. Filled up what is missing, therefore made complete. Finished His race and journey. He has gone over to the other side; He had passed over. He paid the price. He performed what was to be done.
All and all, we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
John 19 v30:
30. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit. -asv
Did not say He drank it down. Just that He had made contact with it.
Christ said it. So definite! It is DONE! Not a hope, not an expectation in the future. It is NOW that we are focusing at. Now is the time. It is settled here. Right here!
Christ knew it. He knows that.
No later. No may be!
He bowed His head in submission. All committed to the Father. he let go of His Spirit.
In trust, and in Faith.
Luke 23 v46:
46. And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said this, he gave up the ghost. -asv
Significantly loud for a weak and dying person. It has to be important.
What is uttered with importance is not something selfish. It is love, trust, and obedience.
There is no saver place to leave one's soul/spirit, but in the hands of the ALMIGHTY God, God of Gods, the Creator, the Author, Love and Righteousness.
Christ is also wise to be with the one who has peace and safety. Are we? Are we today?
Anyone fearing God?
Commend your spirit and life to the Almighty.
Christ is depicted to be in charge of His life/soul.
His acts follow step by step.
He died only when He has finished with all He had to do, for our sake, for our benefit, for the Father's sake, in love and obedience.
A loving death, of true understanding of what is really going on.
Real peace is available in the depths of pain and sorrow.
Trust and obey! For there is no other way. He is THE WAY. A fitting demonstration.
Mark 15 v37:
37. And Jesus uttered a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. -asv
A significant gesture.
An ordination. Stepping onto His throne.
Death to Christ is just a wound, as He can come back to life, He can pick up life whenever He wants to. Death is no longer eternal death in Christ.
He has the power, and is in control.
Christ has more than one part. There is the physical left on the cross for a while; and the spiritual entity called the ghost who moved to the Father. His life has not come to a full stop. The end is just a facade.
Should we not look forward to the brighter side?
Matt 27 v50:
50. And Jesus cried again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. -asv
"Again" - meaning He has spoken up loudly more than once. An expression of confidence in Christ. Step by step we come to victory. Winning and winning.
Who is so bold in death? Not the two thieves beside Christ. Who has ever dictated death, authored it, executed it, and cancelled it?
Would you like your debt cancelled?
