Honoring parents? 孝順?

尊敬父母﹐首先尊敬神

Chinese culture in the tradition/school of Confucianism has it that off-springs must listen to 聽從 everything指令﹐表達 imparted by their parents. This is the Confucian way of honoring 子女的孝順 parents and ancestors. (filial)
尊敬,尊重,敬重 與 孝順 不相等.

Judev16:
16. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their lusts (and their mouth speak great swelling words), showing respect尊敬 of persons for the sake of advantage.

Does Scriptures express the same idea?
What should a Christian obey and choose when the order and expectation of his parents differ from that of Scriptures?

Exodus 20v12:
12. Honor尊敬 thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee.

Honor尊敬 - Strong's Ref. # 3513
Romanized kabad
Pronounced kaw-bad'or kabed {kaw-bade'};

a primitive root; to be heavy, i.e. in a bad sense (burdensome, severe, dull) or in a good sense (numerous, rich, honorable; causatively, to make weighty (in the same two senses):

KJV--abounding with, more grievously afflict, boast, be chargeable, X be dim, glorify, be (make) glorious (things), glory, (very) great, be grievous, harden, be (make) heavy, be heavier, lay heavily, (bring to, come to, do, get, be had in) honour (self), (be) honourable (man), lade, X more be laid, make self many, nobles, prevail, promote (to honour), be rich, be (go) sore, stop.

To regard as weighty, and honorable; is to avoid slighting, to avoid disregarding, to avoid shaking off arrogantly, to avoid defaming.
Also to honor is to boast of their achievement; to glorify them; to harden memories of them; be mindful of responsibility for them.

This is contray to ideas and practices of blind obedience and blind acceptance.
Holding parents and ancestors at high esteem and dignity, regarding them as precious, does not require Christians to follow their orders to the extend of discarding that of the Lord God. There is one God Jehovah, and one God alone, that we must worship, fear, and obey. We ought to bow only to Him.
He alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Let us see how "honor" is used in the New Testament.

John4v44:
44. For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.

Honor - Strong's Ref. # 5092

Romanized time
Pronounced tee-may'

from GSN5099; a value, i.e. money paid, or (concretely and collectively) valuables; by analogy, esteem (especially of the highest degree), or the dignity itself:

KJV--honour, precious, price, some.

Acts28v10:
10. who also honored us with many honors; and when we sailed, they put on board such things as we needed.

Honored - Strong's Ref. # 5091

Romanized timao
Pronounced tim-ah'-o

from GSN5093; to prize, i.e. fix a valuation upon; by implication, to revere:

KJV--honour, value.

Honors - Strong's Ref. # 5092

Romanized time Pronounced tee-may'

from GSN5099; a value, i.e. money paid, or (concretely and collectively) valuables; by analogy, esteem (especially of the highest degree), or the dignity itself:

KJV--honour, precious, price, some.

Matt15vv4,5,8 about honoring parents and John5v23, John8v49, and John12v26 use timao for honor, showing that it is the same word both for honoring parents and honoring God.

We need to be with God first, and give Him greatest honor.

The Pharisees have misused tradition to excuse honoring their parents while not in truth honoring (God)the Father and their parents. Matt15vv4-8. God requires the hearts of the people, not just service and sacrifice.

Respect as "regard"

James2v3
3. and ye have regard to him that weareth the fine clothing, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and ye say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit under my footstool;

Even the Pharisees and their disciples knew that Jesus did not care who the person is. He has no regard for the person but regard only the truth.

Matt22v16 - cares -Strong's Ref. # 3199

Romanized melo
Pronounced mel'-o

a primary verb; to be of interest to, i.e. to concern (only third person singular present indicative used impersonally, it matters):

KJV--(take) care.

Acts10v34,35:
34. And Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35. but in every nation he that feares Him, and works righteousness, is acceptable to Him.

Romans2v11:
11. for there is no respect of persons with God.
respect of persons - Strong's Ref. # 4382

Romanized prosopolepsia
Pronounced pros-o-pol-ape-see'-ah

from GSN4381; partiality, i.e. favoritism:

KJV--respect of persons.

Also Eph6v9.

Worship God first and last. You shall have no strange God beside God. No idolatry.
